Adventures of Summer...

Nothing like a little summer to add some *excitement* to your life I say...a little sun, a little water (or maybe a lot) and a lot of sunburns ;-p I felt like posting a couple of pictures from my vacation on Vancouver Island, which was very awesome--we are totally blessed to have a cottage out there and to be able to go swimming everyday. There's something about the ocean that is very endearing...it is definitely my most favourite place in the world.

Hopefully you will enjoy them too...danke fuers zuhoeren und mal sehen, wie oft ich noch was hier schreibe. Normalerweise habe ich echt keine Lust darauf ;-p Viel Spass noch...

Wild Hair...

Oh so bored, it's brutal...so I thought I would post some pictures from our *exciting* hair day at Sunday School last week. We certainly had a good time. The week before, the girls Elena and Tessa had both come to Sunday school with Bedhead, which had given me the idea that we could make a hair date to create *exciting* hair-dos and cause a stir at church lol. We arranged to have a hair date last sunday and it was indeed very successful. Elena brought tons of hair supplies and we all got our hair done--the girls were hairdressers for Bean and I and we did their hair in return. If we only had a camera and had taken a picture of Deacon Ed's face as he fed us communion ;-p There's nothing like keeping a serious face with wild hair. Enjoy the pictures! Ein schoenes Wochenende wuensche ich euch...

Happy Epiphany!

Happy Epiphany! Yes, it's very *exciting* but it means that we have to take down our tree ;-( Let's just say my family is procrastinating majorly with that and we even listened to our Christmas music at dinner, so I guess tomorrow we'll finally deal with it. Fortunately, we decided to forego the tinsle this year and it will be less messy.
I started working full time last week at Atkins West and I've learned how intense sitting in front of a computer can be. I was late one day because I forgot to set my alarm in the evening. My Mom came into my room at 8am and asked if I was supposed to be going yet...I think I need to write myself a notice by my bed, otherwise I suspect I will be late more than once ;-p We had a German girl, Kathrin, doing a practicum with us and helping us to revamp our filing system. There's still a lot of work to be done but I was really glad to have her there to make less work for me in that regard.
Yesterday I went cross-country skiing with my Dad in Peter Lougheed Park. It was fun minus that I got huge blisters on my heels which popped and then bled through my socks. I've learned that my Mom's boots are too big for me lol. I really wanted to see a moose but alas, it was not to be. Mind you, when you start skiing at 11am the moose have probably all gone away from the ski tracks because some people are noisy. It would be really exciting though, if later in the spring I got to see one. If someone wants to go skiing, let me know ;-)
I feel like being random and so I'm going to insert a picture from this past summer at Prague. We meet two really awesome couples from Manchester on one tour among seeing some amazing history. I would be happy to go back to Prague and well to other European locations for that matter, but right now I get to be here in Canada and save up some money. Oh, and wait for my transfer credits of doom...the university is being difficult to say the least. I hope that wishing to convocate in June is not overly ambitious.
Well, I should probably go and exercise now...tomorrow at dance is going to be brutal. Not that anyone will read this *excitement*. Einen schoenen Tag!

This is for you ;-)

Yay! Anne is excited because Robin is coming home in two weeks!! I have a potential week of doom coming up...my co-worker is in Germany and I get to cover her job. Once school is done tomorrow the first thing I get to do at work is make a phone call to a German dude. The forecast is for many phone calls, which I hope does not mean too many awkward moments. Fortunately I can always ask them how their English is and speak in my first language ;-p Perhaps I am being asked to be more adventurous than I really am--I'll just think positivelly that I'm up for the challenge. Haha...at least it makes me laugh. I am Queen of procrastinators at this moment because I have two papers/projects to be working on and well, that's not what I'm writing. In my defence I spent all afternoon at work and I did token work after dinner. Tomorrow I shall try and be more productive. However now is certainly time for bed as my sentence structure becomes ueber simplified. Ich wuensche euch einen schoenen Abend :) Thanks for reading...you know who you are!

It's snowing...

There's no place like home lol...last year it was sunny and like twenty degrees in Freiburg and here it's cold and gray. Oh well, I decided I should od my token blog update because I haven't for a while though my life hasn't been filled with too much excitement.

I started working last week at Hallmark again but this time in North Hill. I'm working for my friend Hayley and we have a lot of fun together--only thing is that she now has to try and stay focussed because she's the manager. Fortunately I haven't forgotten absolutely everything and so it's been alright getting back into things. Hayley and I are going to go out for dessert on thursday nights after work...apparently there's a really nice dessert cafe near her house. I'm quite excited about it though I'm not sure it will be good for my attempt to eat less sweets ;-p
I've been meeting German people all over the place except some don't really want to speak GErmam with me. At my swing course last week--which was super fun by the way--I met two guys who are studying here from Germany and yesterday at work these two German ladies came in and I had a short conversation with them. I guess it doesn't take much to amuse myself.
I should go talk with my old GErman teacher sometime becuase I should start figuring out what I want to do after this year. There are too many choices. Now I could do teaching or be a librarian or an archivist or an accountant (!)--that was my Mom's suggestion lol. At any rate, if you know people who have these jobs please let me know...I would be happy to talk with them and see if that's really what I want to get myself into. One of the girls I work with also works at the U of C library at the check-out counter and she said they might still be looking for people...that would be *interesting* to get an inside view of the library. All I know is that you have to have really good marks to get accepted into the Master of Library Studies program. Good thing there is still some time.
Today I might find out how I did on my *exciting* spanish composition and map quiz last friday. I am pretty sure there will be silly mistakes but hopefully it all went semi-well. I should probably head off to school now. Einen schoenen Tag noch!
PS: I dare you to respond lol...not that is very *inspirational* ;-p

Anne's back

Oh the *excitement*...Anne's back in Canada...feel *special*. Well I'm not entirely inspired, I'm actually hungry right now ;-p We were at our cabin this weekend and I read my book alot...in fact it's now done and I'm going ot have to search for another German book to occupy my time. I went on the swing too...it definitely felt a lot smaller than it used to. Tomorrow I have to talk with a professor about transfer credits; maybe then I will know how much I have to do this fall. I don't really know where I'm supposed to be at this point but I'm guessing I'll figure it out eventually.
Anyways, this was boring so I'm going to stop before I fall asleep too. Einen schoenen Abend noch :-)
--ich sehne mich nach Deutschland und der deutschen Sprache--wie kam es das ich mich so in zwei teilen muss??

Travelling...

Yay that nobody reads my blog anyways lol :-P I have survived my exams and my paper...now i have to worry about moving out/ un-registering from the city and from the University + Robin is comign to visit me!! I'm really excited about that. As of tonight (the 27th) I will have no more internet at home and people can only call me. I move out of the StuSie on the 31rst and then I will be staying at another home in Freiburg. Robin is coming on the 2nd of August and we will start our travels on the 4th. WE will go to Treuchtlingen (to visit Bean's exchange partner), Malmoe (Sweden), Prague, Berlin, Kiel, Dresden, Koeln, Hamburg, Ulm--it will be lots of places but it will be A LOT of fun. I will be back at home on the 24th. Looking forward to seeing people at home too...though I am sad to leave. I have already decided that I am coming back :-p Take care! Schoenen Tag wuensche ich euch!
