More referat *excitement*

Time is going by quite quickly and I am certainly being kept busy...I hope that I can survive everything without taking too many losses. Last Tuesday I had a referat about "Die Leiden des jungen Werther" and it went quite well--yay Jesus! Without Him, it wouldn't have been possible. Afterwards at International Connections, Miguel talked about Mexico and that was very interesting...wednesday I had my last english lesson thing with the grade 9 students and then I had my two classes. I wasn't entirely talkative despite having read the books but our room was very warm. I am hoping that this week things will cool down a little bit--who know's though. Wednesday night I went dancing with Clarice, Manfred, Wolfgang and Gerald--soo much fun (of course!)--and then Thursday was super busy with kindergarten, tutorat, dance and fire Abend. I was glad for Friday and I spent quite some time working on my referat for tomorrow--I'm hoping that it will go over as well as the last one. This time it's on Faust and the male code of honour. Yes, I know, the *excitement* lol. Friday I went to the Schoenberg to go swing dancing, lindy hop more exactly and after taking the train I had to walk about 5 km to get to the Gasthof (!) Fortunately I got a ride home at midnight because I wouldn't have made it too far at that time...I've learned that I'm not very spectacular at Lindy hop but I enjoy dancing it and I want to improve ;-p Saturday I made an apple crisp and then went to Johanna's WG (she's from International Connection) with two South Korean girls...we ate a south Korean dish for lunch and then we had apple crisp and ice cream---I was very full by the end that's for sure. In the afternoon I went to Campus and watched both soccer games...Argentina and Mexico play a lot more hectic and faster than Germany, so it will be interesting next Friday when they play each other. Today I went to church and went out for lunch (though I wasn't really intending to)to help Angie with her English paper, then I have been working on my homework. Very very *interesting* ;-p Tonight I've been trying to work on my travel plans for August when Robin will come and visit me (I hope) even though I shoudl probably work more on some homework. I'm not inspired. This week I have my referat and my normal activities, plus I might meet with Christine (one of the Erzieherin from the Kindergarten) to do a tandem thing. We'll see. OOO...on Wednesday night we have a game thing with Campus called "Guess who's coming for dinner?" and that should be *exciting*. I'm looking forward to getting to know some people better.
Well, I'll stop my babbling now...and hope you aren't totally bored ;-p Einen schoenen Sonntag noch! Danke fuers lesen.

The *excitement* of my life

Well, I must say that I have put this off for a while and so now I will babble briefly and try to update what's been happening with me. My parents were here until last Monday and I really really enjoyed their visit--if nothing else, I ate incredibly well and it may be good to be on my own so that I don't have to eat so much ;-p The weather has been brutally hot, which has made it hard for me to exercise a lot and to concentrate in my courses...hopefully I will get used to 30+ degrees and be able to participate more fully + not feel like my German is falling backwards lol. WE went to STrassburg on Monday and visited the EU parlament--I have great respect for those translators because they have one tough job. I've been trying to work on two referats for next week, both on works by Goethe and I have gotten fairly far but I think I'm going to take a brief break and then be able to see where I might be doing things wrong. Yesterday I went with Hanna and we watched the soccer game Mexico-Angola at an italian restaurant in the Altstadt...I can't say that now I am in love with soccer but I was impressed with the Angolian goalie--he totally kept them in the game and was the main reason that it ended 0-0. He reminded me of Kipper too ;-p How are those Oilers doing anyways? I'm a little far away to be super involved in that. Today I am going with Rhiannon, a girl I met last semester in my Kleist course, to Staufen the "FAustian" Stadt...but it's not because of Faust. There is a Wine and Music festival this weekend and today there is even a Street DAnce contest we might be able to check out--that is *exciting* for me. I haven't been to Staufen yet and so it will be neat to go there. Tomorrow I'm going to Calvary Chapel and then I'm going out for lunch with the Campus people. Two of the Stinters (the americans who were here) are going home on Monday...one has an internship and the other will be coming back in the Fall for a second year (!) I thought it would be cool to say goodbye to them. I don't know about you, but I would like to feel appreciated when I leave rather than like I didn't have any importance ;-p Next week I hope I can make it through all my courses...this week we had a holiday on Thursday and I was very very glad to have another day off. It has taken me a while to recover from not doing much homework when my parents were here ;-p I haven't even labelled my pictures yet. Oh well, I will get it done soon enough. I should probably go now and *focus* again. Thanks for reading my babbles. Take care und einen schoenen Tag noch!
